“The Secret” and Finding Happiness
Will The book and movie “the Secret” help you finding happiness?
The Secret quickly became the number one self-help book ever written , making Rhonda Byrne world famous on personal development . Before the movie and book she was unknown . However the breakthrough was not the messenger , but the message itself which was delivered by a collection of the best known success coaches in the world . John Asaraf articulated it most memorably : “You can have anything that you want, I don’t care how big it is.”
Bob Proctor introduces ‘The Secret’ as the law of attraction. He states that what’s in your life is there because of what you’re thinking about. Whether you’re thinking about what you do or don’t want, your reality is created by virtue of the predominating thoughts in your consciousness .
This Review of the Secret will help you determine for yourself if purchasing and following this movie or any of these materials is worth your time and money .
The Presenters and Essence of “The Secret”
Possibly the most credible thing about The Secret is that some of the leading names in personal development chose to take part in it . The list includes : Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor and James Arthur Ray, John Asaraf, Joe Vitale and many other people who claim to have demonstrated the truth driving the law of attraction by the experiences in their life . All of these people claim that the Law of attraction was used by legendary people like Leonardo Davinci, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Thomas Edison, Einstein , Dale Carnegie, JD Rockefeller and many more .
As unlikely as this seems , if you research the lives and writing of these historical figures, you’ll findthat each of these people shared one belief in common : that we can manipulate the results which we attract into our lives by simply directing our thoughts towards what we want. Each of them also felt that there was a connectedness in the universe which caused us to be linked to everything in existence . Therefore by concentrating your thinking on something , you’re syncing your mind and body into the same frequency and begin attracting energies which are consistent with what’s on your mind .
Obviously , the list of individuals who held this belief and the deeds they accomplished in their life times makes it difficult to ignore the law of attraction and the effects of our thinking on our lives. Those thoughts impact your ability to be your own best self help
But a Word of Caution
Even though the principles being shared in the movie ‘The Secret’ are useful , it’s not the complete picture . They only give you the simple steps of: ask, believe and receive. Yet if you study the lives of the great achievers , including those who believed in the Law of attraction, you’ll find that all of them share one commonality . They all dedicated themselves to the pursuit of the object of their desire with meticulous planning, constant persistence and an unquenchable desire to get what they want. That’s missing from the “ask, believe, receive” instructions from the film .
I suggest to you that the people who participated in the secret realize that their approach is simplistic , and that in a search for authentic happiness, you’ll get nowhere without creating action and persistence towards achieving it. But, if you remember this to be the case , I think The Secret is a worthy addition to your book collection and would help keep your thoughts focused on your dreams and goals while working your plan of action towards achieving it .
